The mother institute of Taalim School of Indian Music is Pandit Divyang Vakil’s Rhythm Riders Music Institute in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. In addition to its core subject of tabla, Rhythm Riders also provides instruction in Hindustani vocal and keyboard. The school holds regular listening sessions and video showings for its students, in addition to student recitals, concerts and workshops. Local and foreign students receive instruction at Rhythm Riders.
Rhythm Riders also offers several performing groups, including Pandit Divyang Vakil’s tabla ensemble Talavya (formerly Tabla Ecstasy), his son Rushi Vakil’s indo-world fusion group Taan and Kathak performances. The institute and artists work under the umbrella of Rhythm Riders Music Productions.
